Fandoms have become a huge part of socialization for some. Fandoms have lasted throughout all of humanity, dating back to the chariot days and cheering on someone to win. However, more recently fandoms have popped off again in the twentieth century due to social media feeding into these fandoms.

Fandom culture truly depends on what fandom you're in, it depends on how that one person or sometimes group of people act and their beliefs.

Daniel is a huge fan of Formula 1, which is a huge motorsport throughout the world. People like Daniel are able to connect more with the sport because of social media and being active on these platforms. By being active on these platforms Daniel has been able to connect with multiple people sharing the same interests.

"I have made quite a few friendships through the F1 community, my friend Izzy is an example. During the races we text each other or after during the broadcast. Unfortunately she supports McLaren but we're still friends." This is a huge example of taste publics, Daniel has been able to reach out and connect with other fans furthering his interest in Formula 1.

While media is a huge part for sports fans it's also huge for fans of music artists and TV shows. Reinforcement theory also plays a part in fandoms.

This is a direct example of reinforcement theory because she may have already been interested in what Lyn Lapid finds cool but having that confirmation that it really is cool just pushes her to like it more.

Fandoms have had a huge impact on Millennials and Gen Z, fandoms have made people feel safe and also have helped people make friends easier. This new generation of media has positively impacted a lot of people by making them feel welcomed and unashamed for being who they are.
